Responsibilities: Rough/finish carpentry, deck-building, siding (LP, T111, cedar bevel, cedar lap, cedar board-and-batten, cedar tongue-and-groove), drywall hanging, roofing, limited painting, and concrete forming in a variety of residential remodeling projects and custom home constructions. Supervised junior employees and sub-contractors when necessary.

Responsibilities: Assigned to the Carpenter Shop in McMurdo Station. Involved in a multitude of projects including building maintenance and remodeling, science-related shop projects, and remote field-camp support. Field-camp responsibilities included erecting and removing remote-field shelters and structures for use by science grantees and their support team and installing/repairing building amenities (outhouses, kitchen workspaces, science workstations, furnaces, etc.). Field camps included: Siple Dome camp, McMurdo Dome camp, Williams Field NASA camp, Lake Fryxell camp, and Razorback Island camp. Supervised junior employees when necessary.

Responsibilities: As a General Assistant (Oct. 1990-Jan. 1991), I was assigned to the Carpenter Shop in McMurdo Station. After my promotion to Carpenter Helper, I was assigned first to a specialized remodeling crew (Jan. 1991-Sept. 1991) and then returned to the Carpenter Shop (Sept. 1991– Jan. 1992). In both cases, I was involved in a multitude of projects including building maintenance, building remodeling, science-related shop projects, and remote field-camp maintenance at the New Harbor camp as well as the Marie Byrd surface camp.

Past and current projects include contribution of reviews, articles, and music for AllJazzGuitar.com and the Portland Guitar Society. Future plans include contributions to American Lutherie magazine. Articles generally include written music with analysis, reviews are often centered around method books aimed at jazz and jazz guitar, and interviews are with guitarists, teachers, and luthiers.
